Wolfgang Fürweger was born in 1971 in Wells. Since 1996, he worked as a newspaper and television editor in Salzburg and Vienna. As an author specializing in business biographies, he has published The Swarovskis (2009), Ferdinand Piëch: The Executive of the Century (2011). His historical book Burned Childhood (2015) won the 2016 Science Book Prize for Excellence.
